Summary
An EfW facility based upon conventional combustion technology that reached financial close in July 2022. South Clyde has a forecast operational capacity of 350,000 tonnes per annum, with a capability of a maximum of 385,440 tonnes. The project is owned 50/50 by Gren and Fortum Glasgow a subsidiary of Fortum Oyj.
Technology
The plant technology will comprise a single line of a standard moving grate technology, processing around 44 tonnes per hour of waste and producing super-heated steam and 40MWe with a net export of 35MWe and 12MWth of heat[3]. The grate and boiler was reported in July 2022 as being delivered by Hitachi Zosen Inova Steinmüller[4].
