In some cases Transfer Stations also undertake some degree of [[Material Recovery Facility]] ([[MRF]]) function on site.

A Waste Transfer Station (WTS) is a waste management facility to which waste is delivered mainly for bulking up before being removed for further Treatment or Disposal elsewhere. In some cases Transfer Stations also undertake some degree of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) function on site.
