Summary
Clinical Waste Incinerator operated by Clinipower and located on Kings Western Lane, Avonmouth, with an annual capacity limit of 6,800 tonnes, based on pyrolysis.
Plant[1]
CliniPower’s facility at Avonmouth currently utilises two methods for the treatment of Hazardous and Healthcare Waste. The Pyrolysis system, designed in house, is perfect for the incineration/recovery and disposal of all types of healthcare wastes and many hazardous wastes. The materials are converted into simple gases and used to fuel conventional steam power cycle. CliniPower facilitates are designed to be able to take in multiple waste streams.
Through continuing investment CliniPower are also operating a new plant for the treatment of healthcare waste including orange bag materials and 04 offensive wastes which opened in 2018. Here the waste is pre shredded and then heat treated using an innovative dry heat system. The resulting sterilised material is then rendered safe and is suitable as Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). The query SELECT "updated" FROM "db_ea"."ea_ew_in" WHERE epr='FB3506SJ' LIMIT 1 is invalid (Error : SSL SYSCALL error: EOF detected
Function: EDConnectorRdbms::fetch Query: SELECT "updated" FROM "db_ea"."ea_ew_in" WHERE epr='FB3506SJ' LIMIT 1 ).Error: Could not connect to database (Cannot access the database: Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: connection to server at "10.106.0.2", port 5432 failed: FATAL: the database system is in recovery mode).Error: Could not connect to database (Cannot access the database: Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: connection to server at "10.106.0.2", port 5432 failed: FATAL: the database system is in recovery mode).
Waste Tonnage, By Origin
The table shows a list of the Waste for the Permit FB3506SJ, that has arrived into sites as reported to the Regulator and then publicised in their reported statistics. The Data used is from the most recent returns. The total reported tonnage arriving at the site was: Expression error: Unexpected < operator.t.
Where this tonnage exceeds that reported in year of the corresponding annual report, this may be due to the following reasons:
- Tonnage may have been received but not incinerated, i.e. the material is held pending incineration (the operator return to the EA reports as received whereas the annual report focuses on when the waste is incinerated.)
- Material may have been received into the site but treated in some other way than incineration.
- Material may have been received on the but transferred out of site for disposal/treatment at another site rather than incineration on the site.
