Summary
An EfW facility based upon standard combustion technology. The Showground Road site is being delivered by a joint venture between Equitix and Iona Capital known as Bridgwater Resource Recovery Limited.
Technology
The plant is a 1 line, moving grate based technology by Kablitz, generating steam via a Comef boiler, to turbines delivering 7.75MWe.
Construction
The plant is being constructed under a turnkey EPC arrangement at a capital cost of GBP £72m by STC Power SRL and will be operated and maintained by Pinacle Power Limited, with operations due to commence in late 2021.
Waste Input
The plant is designed to run on 100,000 tonnes per year of prepared RDF under an exclusive supply/aggregation arrangement with Geminor[1].
