However, issues have arisen with the construction subsidiary of CNIM responsible for delivery of EfW projects running into financial difficulties in January 2022. This is also impacting a second plant under construction at Earls Gate Energy Centre[4].

The plant is intended to run on residual Household Waste and Commercial Waste provided by FCC Environment.
