Summary
An EfW facility based upon Gasification technology. The Ratty's Lane site (also known as Hoddesdon Energy), was originally developed by AssetGen Partners, with investment from Noy Fund, P3P Partners and Bioenergy Investment Group .
Technology
The plant is understood to be a 3 line, grate based technology by Biomass Power Limited, generating steam to turbines delivering 10MWe.
Construction
The plant is being constructed under a turnkey EPC arrangement at a capital cost of GBP £60m by Bouygues Energy Services who will also operate and maintain the plant for 10 years. Whilst testing was reported to have commenced in January 2018[2], the Bioenergy Investment Group currently suggests the plant is operational, with take over certificate granted in 2020 and performance testing in process[3].
Waste Input
The plant is listed to run on 90,000 tonnes per year of prepared RDF from offsite companies Powerday and Biffa, but is also listed at 105,000 tonnes per annum[4]
