Wiki Waste is currently in a beta form in September 2019 and has been populated initially by Monksleigh with local authority collection contract data. It is the intention to rapidly move towards adding corresponding disposal and treatment data with the objective of providing a consolidating platform/library of information.
Wiki Waste Limited is a Company Limited by Guarantee and has been formed to be on a not for profit basis with the objective of sharing knowledge and information on the UK waste market. It has been created and is currently supported by [http://www.monksleigh.com/ Monksleigh Limited], a UK based waste management consultancy.


Local Authorities will be able to edit and in turn use Wiki Waste for Freedom of Information requests and comparisons with other local authorities.
WikiWaste is currently in a beta form in November 2019 and has been populated initially by Monksleigh with Waste Collection Authority and Waste Disposal Authority data along with definitions and information form the public doman and from Monksleigh’s databases. It is the intention to move towards adding data progressively via Monksleigh and those that have signed up to become editors of WikiWaste with the objective of providing a consolidating platform/library of information freely available to all.

Monksleigh will update and add to the website itself, adding content and further functionality as users make suggestions and further ideas are developed, and will retain overall administration with the objective of the editorial community ultimately taking control of the content itself, and the site ultimately broadening into a wide-ranging library that everyone can use to better understand the waste market in the UK.

Wiki Waste is not for profit and any donations received will go back into the running of the site and development of further content – Wiki Waste should never be accused of a bias that might be created from advertising or subscription.  It is hoped that donations will eventually exceed the requirements of operation and development, and at that point it is intended to distribute excess funds to WasteAid.
