A tradable certificate produced per unit of electricity generated from eligible renewable sources and generated or purchased by an energy supplier to demonstrate it has sourced a set percentage of their electricity from renewables. Introduced by the Renewables Obligation Order 2002 – now replaced by [[Contract for Difference]] ([[CFD]]) for larger projects and [[Feed in Tariffs]] ([[FIT]]s) for smaller schemes.
