Compost Like Output

Revision as of 16:32, 2 March 2020 by MCWaste (talk | contribs) (Re worded and added text)

Compost-Like Output (CLO) is produced from a mixed waste stream, typically as a by-product from a Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) process, and therefore it has requirements for further treatment and limitations on the type of land it can subsequently be applied to due to its relatively poor quality and the presence of contaminants that pose an environmental risk. For example, Compost-Like Output cannot be used in agricultural activities, and is generally sent to landfill or used in land restoration or biofuel crop growing[1].
