Summary
A Biomass Waste EFW facility based on up to 25,000 tonnes per annum of Wood Waste generating 2.7MWe to the grid[1].
The Tyrone site was developed by Tyrone Energy Ltd and was operational in late 2014 and at the time was the first large scale EfW plant in Northern Ireland. It is located near Strabane, County Tyrone[2].
Plant
Built at a cost of £9.5m, the combustion technology is based on a standard stepped grate and is WID complaint.

The Wood Waste is received from a variety of sources. The Wood Waste tonnage received cannot be directly compared with the stated historical tonnage received and recorded in the NIEA statistics as these are recorded on a calendar year basis (i.e. January 2018 to December 2018) and not currently available.
