The Waste Disposal Authorities in the East Midlands of England are listed below. There are three ways for the Waste Disposal Authority and Waste Collection Authority to work together and these are listed on the Waste Disposal Authority page. In the East Midlands of England all three types of arrangement are used.
In the East Midlands the following Waste Disposal Authorities have, or are, in partnerships to procure treatment and disposal contracts, some of which are through PPP/PFI arrangements:
- Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council PPP to procure the now mothballed Sinfin Lane Gasification facility. A decision on the future of the plant and future disposal/treatment options for residual waste is due shortly.
- Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council PPP to treat/dispose of residual waste at Eastcroft EfW (Lines 1 & 2)
