Baddersley EfW
An EfW facility based upon conventional combustion technology, located within the Merevale and Blyth Estate near Atherstone in Warwickshire. The facility has a permitted capacity of 130,000 tonnes per annum, and is operated by Gren WTE.
The facility is designed to operate on pre-prepared RDF[1].

Plant Description
The combustion technology comprises a single line Moving Grate Furnace[1].
The EPC contractor for the facility was Kantor Energy[2] - Vyncke supplied the plant’s boiler and flue gas cleaning system, and the plants steam turbine were provided by Triveni[2].
The plant was designed ot deliver 10.5 MW electricity to the grid after the facilities own power needs are met. The site is CHP-ready with the potential to export hot water to a third party[1].
History
The facility has been developed by Aeternis Energy and Park Top, together known as Aeternis Baddesley as a joint venture. Funding was provided by Equitix, totaling an investment of £61 m.
The plant was subsequently sold as part of larger transaction by Equitix to Gren who now operate the plant[3].
