Plant Description
The plant was constructed under a turnkey EPC arrangement at an original capital cost of GBP £72m by STC Power SRL[2][4].
The commissioing of the plant was delayed and the final commissioning was undertaken by Bridgwater Resource Recovery, as well as stepping into the O&M arrangemnt, which was originally intended to be by Pinacle Power Limited[2].
Operations were due to commence in late 2021, but stable operations were only reported to have started in November 2024[1].
The plant is a 1 line, moving grate based technology by Kablitz, generating steam via a Comef boiler, to turbines delivering 7.75MWe[2].
History
The site was developed by Bridgwater Resource Recovery Limited and reached financial close in late 2018 with investment from a joint venture between Equitix and Iona Capital[2].
The plant wass designed to run on 100,000 tonnes per year of prepared RDF under an exclusive supply/aggregation arrangement with Geminor[4]. It is understood that this arrangement is no no longer in place.
Iona Capital was acquired by Kanadevia Inova in October 2024 (Kanadevia Inova)[2] and the Bridgwater plant is listed on that site[4].
