Construction and Demolition (C&D) Wastes

Construction and Demolition Waste is defined in the Waste Framework Directive as "waste generated by construction and demolition activities". It is a subset of Construction, Demolition and Excavation (CD&E) Waste (excluding the preominantly soil-based excavation wastes from its classification).

Construction and Demolition Waste Target - UK

Under the Waste Framework Directive there was a target for the recovery of non-hazardous C&D Wastes to be 70% by 2020 which has been exceeded by the UK.
