History
The Exeter facility was built primarily to service a PPP contract between Viridor[2] and Devon, servicing primarily Exeter City Council.
The 60,000 tonne per year capacity was revised in March 2024 to 65,7000 tonnes based upon a throughput of 7.5 tonnes per hour at 9.3MJ/kg[1].
In December 2025 Equitix increased their stake in Viridor with a path to acquire 50% of the business[5].
