Plant Description

The plant is able to process 25 tonnes per line, equivalent to 438,000 toones a year, but the annual return suggests the plant design is 150,000 tonnes per annum[2][3].

History

The site comprises a biomass incinerator, an Anaerobic Digestion plant and a Mechanical Treatment plant[2]

The plant is owned and operated by RenEco Ltd (a rebrand of the original permit holder Anclliary Components Ltd)[3][4].

In 2023 RenCo partnered with Nordsol to deliver a bio-LNG facility on the same site, which has been operational since Q1 2025[5][6].

The incinerator was designed and built by Wykes Engineering, the group's Engineering Company[1].

Wykes provided a turnkey solution to the project which included design, manufacture and full life cycle maintenance and project management[1].
