The plant comprises 1 line of 26 tonnes/hour (maximum 30.5 tonnes/hour) with a design capacity capable of treating 200,000 tonnes per annum via standard combustion technology, air cooled, Hitachi Zosen Inova Grate, generating super-heated steam, and is configured to run on residual Household Waste and Commercial Waste with a CV of between 6.8 and 12.0 MJ/kg delivering 18 MWe of power[3].

History

The Hartlebury/EnviRecover facility was built primarily to service a 25 year PFI contract signed in 1998 between and Herefordshire and Worcestershire, with anticipated total throughput of up to 230,000 tonnes per annum (modified in planning from its original 200,000 tonnes per annum capacity).

The site is operated by Severn Waste Services and sister company Mercia Waste Management Ltd, both of which are jointly owned by FCC Environment (and previoulsy Urbaser prior to its aquisition by FCC) in a partnership with Herefordshire and Worcestershire[1]
