Plant Description
This facility is operated by Burmeister Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC), who also provided turnkey EPC services for the project[2][4]
History
Kent Renewable Energy Plant became operational in September 2018 after beginning a 25 month construction period in the summer of 2016[1].
Kent Renewable Energy Plant received an investment of approximately £150m of equity from its majority-owner Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in order to develop the facility[3].
The fuel is sourced locally by Euroforest Ltd, a provider of harvesting and marketing services to the UK forestry industry, who supplies low grade wood for the facility from woodland management practices in the south east of the UK[2].
