Plant Description
The plant is based on standard combustion comprising a single line of a fluidised bed technology[1][3].
MBM and wood pellets are blown into the fluidised bed from a silo for combustion[1][3].
The plant generates 42MWth and 11MWe which is used primarily in the co-located rendering plant.
History
JG Pears was granted planning consent in October 2014[2] for the facility.
Engineering and development support was supplied via Cobalt Energy[4] and was delivered via an EPC contract by Aalborg Energie Technik a/s (AET) between 2016 and 2018[5][6].
It processes MBM from the co-located processing facilites of the company and provides the combined heat and power needs of the sites overall processing[2].
The plant is owned and operated by JG Pears[3].
