Riverside Energy Park (REP)
An EfW facility under commissioning based upon conventional combustion technology, Riverside Energy Park (REP) (also known as Riverside 2) has permitted capacity of 650,000 tonnes per year and reached financial close on the 9th December 2022[1].
The plant is located adjacent to Cory's operational Riverside Resource Recovery Facility (RRRF) (Riverside 1) on the banks of the River Thames.

Plant Description
The plant commenced construction in January 2023 with operation due to commence in 2026[1].
The plant is to be delivered by Hitachi Zosen Inova (now Kanadevia Inova) under a Design & Build EPC-turnkey contract[1] - using the same standard combustion technology, air cooled, Hitachi Zosen Inova Grate as the adjacent operational plant[4].
History
The plant was developed to run on residual Household Waste and Commercial Waste.
It is understood that the company will continue to engage with the market to secure waste for the plant in East London and the surrounding areas[2].
In July 2025 Cory secured the East London Waste Authority residual waste contract[3].
