Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA)
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) purpose is to protect and improve the environment in ways that, as far as possible, also create health and wellbeing benefits and sustainable economic growth. SEPA is a non-department public body with a board from a variety of backgrounds[1].

SEPA's overall focus is on:
- Environmental Regulation (including waste related permits)
- Flood Risk Management
Their work is focused on:
- Net zero (helping Scotland to become net zero by 2045)
- Business environmental performance (securing high performance from those they regulate)
- Water environment (protecting rivers, lochs, wetland and seas)
- Climate resilience (reducing impacts of floods and droughts)
- Resource efficiency (transistion to a circular economy)
