Thetford Power Station
Thetford Power Station is permitted to receive up to 550,000 tonnes a year of waste, focused primarily on poultry litter, but including the co-firing of forest woodchips, clean horse bedding, Meat and Bone Meal (MBM) and waste wood.
The facility is based near Thetford, in East Anglia.

Plant Description
The plant is a standard combustion approach via a single line roto grate[4] (Grate) by Detroit Stoker Inc., the boiler by Foster Wheeler Ltd (Canada) and the turbine by Ansaldo Energia SpA. The Fuel handling was by Birtley Engineering plc[2].
The plant generates up to 38.5MWe[3].
History
The plant's first power was generated in June 1999, with Taylor Woodrow Management and Engineering carrying out the design and construction turnkey package at a cost of £69m[1][2].
The plant is operated by EPR Thetford (a Melton Renewables Energy business)[3][4].
