Thalia Waste Management was created as a re-brand of the AmeyCespa business - the treatment business left after the parent company Ferrovial sold the Amey Group. The business until recently was focused on four operational facilities[1].

  • Ferrovial sold the waste collection business to Urbaser in 2021[3], which in turn was acquired by FCC in December 2023[4].
  • The Amey Group was sold in 2022 with the waste treatment business retained and branded Thalia Waste Management[5]
  • In April 2026 it was announced that Veolia would take over the contract for the Isle of White on a two year arrangement from Thalia Waste Management although at the time of writing this was not acknowledged by Thalia[6].
  • In May Suez announced the winning of a 10 year contract to operate and maintain Milton Keynes' Waste Recovery Park
